The Imperial Crown Hotel had been transformed into something closer to a royal palace than a ballroom. Rising nearly four stories overhead, an arched ceiling of polished white marble and black onyx was accented by intricate gold inlays inspired by ancient Egyptian architecture, each geometric pattern illuminated by warm recessed lighting that cast a soft amber glow throughout the hall. Towering crystal chandeliers, each containing thousands of individually cut prisms, hung like constellations above the guests, scattering golden reflections across the glossy black marble floor below.
Stretching the length of the ballroom, a deep black carpet bordered in metallic gold guided arriving guests toward the center of the venue. Massive pillars carved from dark stone stood evenly throughout the room, each wrapped with subtle golden lighting and decorated with tasteful arrangements of white orchids, black calla lilies, and preserved palm leaves. Between the pillars stood museum-quality Egyptian sculptures and commissioned artwork depicting the history of innovation, leadership, and civilization. The pieces personally selected from Pharaoh Corporation’s private collection to fit the theme.
Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the illuminated Seoul skyline, offering breathtaking views of the Han River and the city beyond. Outside dozens of synchronized spotlights slowly swept across the night sky, their beams visible for miles and serving as silent markers that one of the city’s most exclusive gatherings had officially begun.
Near the center of the ballroom rested an expansive circular dance floor crafted from polished obsidian and white marble. Security remained almost invisible despite its overwhelming presence. Members of Pharaoh Corporation’s executive protection division, dressed in tailored black suits with discreet communications equipment, blended seamlessly among the guests while maintaining complete awareness of every entrance, exit, balcony, and service corridor. Outside, the streets surrounding the Imperial Crown had been temporarily closed as luxury sedans, limousines, and supercars continued arriving in an orderly procession under the supervision of local authorities.
The guest list reflected the influence Pharaoh Corporation had accumulated in only a few short years. Heads of multinational corporations, government officials, diplomats, athletes, entertainers, scientists, investors, military officers, media executives, and philanthropists from across the globe steadily filtered through the ballroom doors. Tonight was a great opportunity to make connections and build opportunities which is why Oluwafemi also opened the invitation to the general public. He was a man of opening doors and felt if he was going to host such a massive event, everyone should be welcomed.
Of course the man himself had to show up to his own event. Outside the hotel’s grand entrance, another motorcade rolled to a smooth stop beneath the illuminated canopy. The first members of Pharaoh Corporation’s executive security detail stepped out before one of the rear passenger doors opened. Oluwafemi Uzoma Kingsley emerged with the same calm confidence despite half the audience looking for him, he was used to the attention.
Standing seven feet tall with a broad, athletic frame, he was impossible to overlook even without the attention surrounding him.
